Bio

Natalie earned her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University. She fell in love with the field of mental and behavioral health working as the lead behavioral therapist at an outpatient clinic, practicing behavioral therapy with individuals on the spectrum from birth to young adult. Following this experience, Natalie began working at an inpatient psychiatric facility (ages 18+) as the lead mental health specialist on the dual diagnosis unit. She has experience working with patients who struggle with mood disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, adjustment disorders, addictions, eating disorders, trauma, developmental disorders, maladaptive behaviors, self-harm, suicidality, and homicidality.

Natalie’s approach is remarkably empathic, attentive, accepting, and nonjudgmental in order to create a safe and trusting space for patients to openly express themselves. Natalie is passionate about treating patients from all populations and ages, due to her experience working with a vast range of individuals with various needs.

Natalie believes that the attempt to explore unconscious thoughts and emotions that drive our behaviors reaps great benefit towards expanding the understanding of oneself. Unconscious psychological processes can help explain personality, how we are feeling, and the way we go about our life; fears and wishes. Natalie recognizes the importance of guiding clients into learning how to identify and change destructive thought patterns that influence their emotions and behaviors. Further, she seeks to guide clients into looking within themselves to find meaning, determine values, and make decisions that ultimately shape their lives.
